1099-DIV

I received a 1099-DIV after filing my Federal taxes.  I have not yet mailed my state taxes.  The dividend did not make any change to my Federal return but did lower the refund I am due on my State tax, Virginia, by $466.  Since this dividend did not affect my Federal refund, do I need to file an amended Federal return or only make the change to the state return?

The IRS generally requires you to amend a federal return when you didn’t include Form 1099 information on your return.

Please see the TurboTax articles "Do I need to amend?" and "How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed" for additional information.
