You would be responsible to issue a W-2 or 1099-MISC to your household employees, depending on if you withheld taxes on them or not.

However, if you hired a household worker through an agency, and the agency is responsible for who does the work and how the work is performed, then the agency is responsible for all employment taxes. This should be specified in your contract for services with the agency.

For more information, please see TurboTax FAQs Do I have to pay taxes on what I pay to my Household Employee? and Who is considered a household employee?

Quick Employer Forms (QEF) allows you to create W-2, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-DIV forms.

Click here to navigate to the QEF website. Log in with the same credentials you use to get in your TurboTax account.

  • Quick Employer Forms supports e-filing to the Social Security Administration and Internal Revenue Service only. It does not support filing any state employer forms, nor does it support paper-filed forms.
  • If you need to file 100 or more forms, we recommend our 1099-Efile Service, designed to accommodate larger businesses.
  • If you use our Lacerte and ProSeries software, please contact your sales representative for information on Quick Employer Forms.
