I realized that ebay sent me a 1099-K this year (due to the new thresholds) and they had my wrong address. It's from a state I have not lived in for years.
They said they cannot change it. To make things more complicated, I moved from a state with state income tax to a state without income tax. I'm just nervous what this will mean.
I am taking a loss on the amount of the 1099-k so there is no actual income I am reporting (if that matters or makes this less complicated)
Thank you for the help

Are you talking about the address listed for you on the 1099-K or information reported on the form? If the address they have for you is incorrect, there are no issues other than you want to make sure you update it with eBay. This will not effect your return at all.
Did you have any state tax withholding listed on the 1099-K? If no, again, this will not effect your return at all, even if a state is listed. As long as no withholdings are listed, there is nothing you need to correct.
Thanks for the super fast response.
Yes, I am referring to my physical address listed on the 1099-K that is incorrect. It has been changed with ebay.
Won't this mean that the 1099-K will be reported to the incorrect state?
I do not have any state tax withholding listed on the 1099-K.
You are who determine what state the income belongs to, not the 1099-K.
Thank you. But isn't the 1099-K reported to the state that my listed address is on the 1099-K? Wouldn't I have to somehow reconcile that? Or since I do not have any state tax withholding listed on the 1099-K does it not matter?
Right, because there is not withholding reported the state doesn't matter.
Even if it did have state withholdings and the withholdings were for the wrong state you could just file a non-resident return for that state and say none of the income was earned in that state and get withholdings refunded.
