I realized that ebay sent me a 1099-K this year (due to the new thresholds) and they had my wrong address. It's from a state I have not lived in for years.
They said they cannot change it. To make things more complicated, I moved from a state with state income tax to a state without income tax. I'm just nervous what this will mean.
- What are the implications of this?
- I have not filed yet. Is there anything I can or should do before I do file?
- Is there a form I can fill out or should I try to contact the incorrect state that is on this 1099-k?
I am taking a loss on the amount of the 1099-k so there is no actual income I am reporting (if that matters or makes this less complicated)
