JOB RELATED EXPENSES
Only the amount of job-related expenses that are OVER 2% of your adjusted gross income get added to your list of itemized deductions, which still must exceed your standard deduction in order to make a difference on your return. This is kind of a hard deduction to get. If you need to enter these, go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Employment Expenses>Job-Related Expenses.
If you are not itemizing any other itemized deductions like "big ticket" deductions such as mortgage interest or property taxes, your uniform expense cannot affect your refund or tax due at all.
COMMUTING EXPENSES
The expenses of commuting to and from work (or to and from school) such as gas, tolls, bus fare, train fare, taxis, Uber rides, parking, etc. are not deductible on your Federal return. Sorry.
Note: You can, however, claim expenses for travel between job sites
