When I enter the RMD amount from an inherited benefit do I enter the before tax amount or the amount that I received in the check?

I had taxes withheld.

The amount taxable is the gross RMD amount.

You have to report the amount in box 1 of your form 1099-R.

Taxes withheld are reported in box 4.
