STILL happening. What do we need to do to get this addressed??
Unfortunately, changes related to qualified disaster distributions and repayments weren't ready in time for us to include them in this release. Please revisit this area later. |
Any update on this? I would like to get my taxes filed, with all the IRS cuts it can be delayed any longer. Please advise. I have never had this issue with TurboTax, I am hoping to continue being a customer.
still no change, this is really starting to make me want to go another route.
I hope someone from the Intuit development team reads this post. I called the support line yesterday and wasted one hour on the phone. Explained to the lady on the phone what was the issue. She asked me where I purchased the software. I told her at a retail store. I explained to her that this issue is related to the software since it is missing the 8915-F form. While we are on the phone, I created a new return to see if it might be related because the form was available after the return was returned. It still did not help. I have been a TurboTax customer for a long time but for next tax year I will definitely look elsewhere. Similar to last year, I will have to file my taxes late in March. I come from a software engineering background and Intuit needs to look at current situation and make improvements. At this rate, they will not survive. Good riddance.
I just bought the desktop version and tried it that way and even after all the updates it still gives me the same answer.
here we are 2 days after the supposed "release date" and NOTHING is working for this form.
Spoke with turbo tax yesterday or day before and they said Feb. 27th.

That is what they said on Feb 20th. Did they say why the 27th if the form became available on feb 20th?
Has this been resolved, or are we waiting until the 27th?
Something similar has happened before. The desktop version can't take care of 2021 disaster distribution that's spread over 3 years into 2024. But I predict soon, given the PDF version of the form is available on IRS.gov. We just have to be patient.
Well, it is now the 27th and nothing has changed. I did the update and still getting the same error.
Why the hell is this marked solved. I was commenting on another thread on the same topic and decided to search to see if there were any other open discussions.
THERE IS A BUG IN TURBOTAX 2024. THE DESKTOP VERSION WILL NOT LET YOU FILE WITH A 2024 QUALIFIED DISASTER DISTRIBUTION. INTUIT STATED IT WOULD BE CORRECTED LAST WEEK AND IT IS STILL UNCORRECTED. I HAVE USED TURBOTAX FOR 20 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ISSUES LIKE THIS. GET THE **bleep** BUG CORRECTED!
Despite today's "program updates," the 8915-F form isn't part of the 1040 pdf package, so that suggests https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product... isn't accurate about the 8915-F being ready to e-file. We just have to be patient.
The same situation happened last year. The dates got moved multiple times and was not able to file my taxes until March 24th. I am not going to be a TurboTax customer after this year.
I had this error still on 2-27-25. So the next time, instead of clicking the box that the disaster was in 2024 I clicked the box for 2023 Disaster instead, and when I got to the next screen, without the erro, I looked up the disaster ID #. The only ones on the FEMA site in the box that popped up were 2024 anyway. Once I chose Milton and entered the code I was able to finish my taxes today.
