What is the 1099-G for? Form 1099-G is used for a lot of different kinds of payments. The most common are unemployment benefits or a state income tax refund, which have to be entered in different places in TurboTax. Which box of the 1099-G is the payment amount in?

Here's where to report your 1099-G for unemployment or paid family leave. If you're using the TurboTax mobile app, follow these instructions. Unemployment compensation and paid family leave are entered in the same place:

It's not for Unemployment. It says it was OVERPAYMENT.
