After I input my military retirement income, Turbotax keeps asking if it is a 403(b) or other qualified plan. It's neither, but it doesn't give me that option.

I just have a 7 in box 7.

It still doesn't work.

I did see another post with a workaround here. The 1099-R still has an investigation.

I am having the same problem. Nobody seems to know the answer for this at Turbo Tax.

There is a bug in the TurboTax online editions when you select that your pension plan is a Non-Qualified Plan.

This has been reported to the TurboTax Moderators to get the development team to fix the error.

The error does not occur when using the TurboTax desktop editions.

How will we know when the software will be corrected to allow users to enter inherited NQ Stretch distribution information that does not generate endless needs review messages?

I am using the Desktop free edition and it has the same error.  Any update on fixes?

This is very frustrating.  I have everything else ready to file on my tax return but can not because this error is not fixed.  Taxes are due in less than a month.  And this error has been ongoing for over a month.  Any information on when it is expected to be fixed.

I have tried all of the workarounds.  The only thing in box 7 is the number 7.  I deleted and manually reentered my 1099R from DFAS.

@sdelp According to the TurboTax Moderators of this forum there will be a fix for this problem on 03/21/2025

Are  you using a desktop TT version? I am using an online version and error still  persists  in spite of following all advice for resubmission of data.  I did see a patch was be available on 3/21/2025 for the online version. Can anyone confirm and  provide information about how to access it?

The Online version is automatically updated when they put out the updates.  Nothing you need to do.  If there has been an update (which usually happens on Thrusdays like today 3/20 there was an update) then you should revisit the 1099R entries and  answer all the followup questions again.  I would even delete the 1099R and enter it again Manually so nothing gets missed.

You may want to delete the Form 1099-R and re-enter manually.

Using the TurboTax online editions, I just went through the 1099-R section and selected Non-Qualified Plan and the program completed with no issues.
