Hi,
I am filing my tax return for 2023 and I have two questions related to my Mega Backdoor.
1. I made after tax traditional 401K Contribution by the end of 2023. Do I need to file any form for this contribution?
2. I rolled over the after tax contribution from 401K to my Roth IRA in Jan 2024. Do I need to file this rollover in 2023 return or 2024 return?
Thank you!

1. No you do not need to enter your after-tax 401(k) contributions on your 2023 tax return.
2. Since you moved the funds in 2024 you will report it on your 2024 tax return. You will get a 2024 Form 1099-R and enter it on your 2024 tax return.
