Type "Retired" in the box for occupation
Is this asked some place else?
Do you have a schedule C from last year?
You do not have to enter anywhere that you are retired. The IRS only uses "occupation" for statistics so you can say "Retired" there if you want to in MY INFO but it will have no effect on your tax due or refund. As for income, you can skip entering W-2's if you no longer receive a W-2 from an employer. If an old one transferred over from last year you can delete that employer.
Just enter your retirement income. (And...of course...enter any other sort of income you received in 2023)
Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
