No, there's no federal penalty for not having health insurance. Some states do still have the penalty, so you may see it on your state return only.

There is no federal penalty at all for not having health insurance. There are several states in which not having any kind of health insurance at all can cause you to owe a penalty. These are CA, DC, MA, NJ and RI
