I think I see where the bug is. They are using 71 1/2 as the age and not 70 1/2.
They fixed the original bug on 3/11 but created a new one.
My test screen shots used a DOB of 1/1/1949 and you are 11/1949.
Edit the personal information and and change your DOB to 1948 and you should get the question. Fill out the rest of the 1099-R and then change your DOB back to the correct DOB. That will not affect the tax return in any way - it is just to get TurboTax to ask the correct question.
You will need to deleted the 1099-R first to reset it.
Did you check this box?
My question page does not have that specific question. The other six lines are there though. Did I miss something? Also, I did not get a question asking if this 1099-R was related to an RMD. Is this pertinent?

The RMD age was changed to 72 by a tax law but the QCD is still 70 /1/2 or older.
Is the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box checked on your 1099-R? Only IRA's can have a QCD.
Check the personal information section n to be sure your DOB is 1950 for age 71.
Checked my 1099-R. The SEP/IRA box is checked. And my profile has my correct birth date of 1949.
I assume you are using the online version and not the CD/download version installed on your computer which is different.
Delete the 1099-R and re-enter. If you answer the questions the QCD question is there.
Am using the online version. I deleted and reentered this particular 1099-R but will repeat and let you know what happens. TX!
This is what I get:
Reentered the 1099-R. Made sure that the IRA/SEP box was checked in turbotax (same as 1099-R form), rechecked my birthdate. Still same result - no question regarding QCD!
What did you do that is different than my screen shots.
Birthday is 11/1949. Age: 71
Box 1 and 2a have same "taxable" amount. But $1,000 of this amount was a QCD = non taxable.
Box 2b: "Taxable amount not determined" is checked on 1099-R and entered on form as such.
Box 4: Has federal income tax amount entered. Entered on TT form.
Box 7: 7 and IRA/SEP/SIMPLE checked. Checked on TT form.
Box 14: Has state tax withheld amount entered. Entered on TT form.
Yet no question regarding RMD or any amount donated as QCD.
Any ideas?
You don't get the 2nd screen shot "Do these situations apply to you" that is right after the continue button on the 1099-R entry screen?
I have that screen but do not have the question if I directed any or all of the RMD to charity. I also did not get a screen asking if this 1099-R amount was an RMD.
Double check the personal information section to be sure there was not a typo on your DOB.
The only three things that can prevent that question is an incorrect DOB, the IRA box not checked, or a box 7 code that is not eligible for QCD's.
