Line 12 on my W-2 has code DD. This code means that the amount entered in the box is not taxable. Am I correct in that it should have no effect on my taxable income?

My employere offers simple plans so limit is $14000. Amount on line 12a is over 19000. Again code is DD.

Code DD indicates the cost of coverage under an employer-sponsored group health plan. This would have no effect on your taxable income, other than the amounts you pay toward your health coverage are usually taken out of your pay before tax is calculated. This means you do not pay tax on the income used for health insurance.

Code DD is for your information. It has no effect on your taxable income or anything else on your tax return. It's the total cost of your health insurance, including the amounts paid by both you and the employer.
