TurboTax cannot help you at all with verifying your identity with the IRS or your state. Sometimes the IRS chooses returns randomly to verify identity and sometimes it is triggered by something on your return. No matter why they want you to verify your identity, it is up to you to take care of it. No, having "Max" does not make a difference. This is between you and the IRS. Sorry.

The IRS letter tells you what to do , so the first step is to do what the IRS letter directs.
If that works, you are done and you resume waiting.
I was hoping there was a way to expedite this faster than waiting 6 more weeks. Does it make a difference that I got TurboTax Max when I file my taxes is there anything that TurboTax or Inuit can do to help expedite this and help me get id'd through them

Thank you I thought that was the case. Doesn't hurt to ask. I heard talking to a advocate thru IRS mite get them to work faster if I explain the situation I need the money yesterday.
A tax advocate is unlikely to help, but it cannot hurt to ask. Be aware that they are swamped right now due to the backlog at the IRS and the many many delayed refunds.
TAX ADVOCATE
At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

The reason it would take 6 weeks or more to get the refund is because your return has not started to be processed ... they stopped the return for ID verification BEFORE the return started processing at all ... so once they verify you the return is then put into the system for processing which can happen in as little as 2 weeks however expect it to take months and there is nothing you or anyone else can do to speed it up.
