You can delete Form 8880, but the form may regenerate if you qualify for the credit.   Depending on your adjusted gross income, you qualify if you contribute to a qualified retirement plan and you were not a full-time student.   You were considered a student if during any five calendar months of 2024 you:

  • Were enrolled as a full-time student at a school, or
  • Took a full-time, on-farm training course given by a school or a state, county or local government agency

If you don't qualify, you can delete Form 8880, and downgrade.  The credit can be found in the Deductions & Credits section, under Retirement and Investments, and then, Retirement Savings Contribution Credit.

You can say in the self-interview that you were a full time student. That will remove the credit, and will not affect anything else as long as you don't try to claim tuition.
