The TurboTax retirement income section is available and fully functional.

You should have your 1099-R available.

As @xmasbaby0 Indicated, you should follow these steps:

  1. Go to Wages and Income
  2. Retirement Plans and Social Security
  3. IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals
  4. Enter your 1099R.

How do I enter pension income on turbo tax form?

I entered the info from the 1099r.  When i continue Turbotax asks in 9b Total Employees Contributions and it's not an RMD as that's entered elsewhere.  Also "is the taxable annuity the taxable amount?".  I'm confused--this is a monthly federal pension.  please advise me on how to enter this.  I feel like I'm in the wrong place as it's not a TSP or an RMD it's monthly retirement check.  Help!

If the program asks for an amount in box 9b and your Form 1099-R does not have an amount in box 9b then in this case it would be better to delete the Form 1099-R and then re-enter the form manually to clear the program error.

I agree with @DoninGA, it may be best to delete your Forms 1099-R and start over.  Enter it manually.

Follow these steps to delete your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. Go to Form 1099-R
  2. Select the trash can next to your 1099-R and then answer Yes

Then manually enter your Form 1099-R exactly as it is shown.

Here's where to enter your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. In the Federal section, select Wages & Income
  3. Scroll to locate Retirement Plans and Social Security, and select Show more
  4. Select Start or Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)

Select enter it myself.
