Form 8606 Availability

It should be available 24 hours after the IRS approves TurboTax to use the form. Currently, the IRS has not finalized the form. Here is the IRS web page to check the status of form 8606: Available Forms and Limitations. Scroll down to Form 8606.

Users of the Download/CD version of TurboTax please update your software Form 8936, 8606 and 4684 are now available for immediate use.

For TurboTax online users, updates typically happen in the overnight hours, please check tomorrow morning for updates.

No, the form is not listed any longer on the availability sheet. When will this form be available?

After receiving the email yesterday (12/14) confirming availability of Form 8606 I updated the software (Windows version) but the app still reflects the form as not available.  Tried to update again today but already up-to-date.

Yep, continued misinformation is being provided by TT.  Still can't file; no clear date when they'll load the form.  This should not be that hard.  TT should know exactly when it will be ready as it is now in their hands...the IRS has a completed form; TT is not waiting on the IRS at this point.

The software was updated 02/12/2020 to include the finalized Form 8606.

If you are using the desktop editions, update your software.  If you have updated the software today and you still cannot use the Form 8606 then get a manual update - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/updating/help/manually-update-turbotax-for-windows-software-basic-...
