Do we report retirement income?

Yes.  If you received a Form 1099-R and/or a SSA-1099 those are entered on your tax return.

Do we report retirement income?

Yes.   But if your ONLY income is Social Security you are not required to file unless you had tax withheld or if you have a 1095A for marketplace health insurance.   If you have SS and had other income you may need to file.

Do not try to enter your SSA1099  or RR1099RB as a W-2.  Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.

You need to file a federal return if half your Social Security plus your other income is $25,000 when filing single or head of household, or $32,000 when filing married filing jointly, $0 if you are filing married filing separately.
