Depends.....if you are ~retirement age and get SS income, then that is where the SSA-1099 $$ are entered...so in that situation it is required....and needs $$ entered in it. Deleting it would remove your SS income.

If you did not receive any SS income during 2022, then it could probably/maybe be removed...but I'm not certain about that...or what the effect would be, if any.
you have to calculate the taxable part of your Social Security.
