No, there is special section in TurboTax where you should report your Form 1099-MISC information. Start in the Federal section of TurboTax and then Wages and Income. Look for Other Common Income and then Income from Form 1099-MISC.

No, you cannot change the type of form that you received. Form 1099-MISC cannot be entered in TurboTax Free Edition. To enter a 1099-MISC you will have to upgrade to Deluxe.
