Hello Team,
I'm filing my CA Military pension. I paid a total of $600 in state taxes through auto deductions. When I file it shows I'm getting $600 back. I thought in CA we had to pay state taxes on our pension. Why am I getting the money back?
Note: It doesnt let me see the breakdown that turbo tax normally shows how it got the amount. Just shows $600 return.
I can see my federal break down though.
Only other income is Social Security but that's the one thing that is not taxable in CA, for now lol.
Thanks.

If you’re a resident, your military retirement pay is taxable. This includes all military pension income, regardless of where you were stationed or domiciled while on active duty.
You can go to the Tax Tools- View Tax Summary to see you CA Tax Summary. If it is not included as income, you may want to go through the California section again.
