Turbo Tax is making me paid for services even though I'm Active Duty E4 with just a W2 and 1098T Form. I've check all the military boxes and still it won't change?

Usually it's free and now it's making me pay full price. Nothing out of the ordinary and it's been fine the previous 7 plus years.

Yep, they did the same to me, been using them for probably 15 or more years, this is the final straw.  Its been getting worse over the past 2 or 3 years and now they just nickle and dime everything and claim you will be able to file free, but still charged me $99.  Refusing to refund even after they verified im military and did it properly.

In the My Info section of the program you need to indicate that you are active military.  You must enter a Military W-2 in the Wages & Income section and after completing the W-2 on the screen labeled Let's check for uncommon situations you will need to check the box Active military duty

When you complete the tax return using the above information you will not be charged for either the federal or state tax returns. (Assuming you have indicated you are enlisted personnel)
