You would not be considered Self-Employed if you checked the first option on the screen asking for the Source of the 1099-Misc. That option says Investment income from property you own, which would be your rights, and that's what you should check. The second option, the one you apparently checked, is operating a natural resources company and it doesn't sound like you do that.
To change your answer, enter 1099-MISC in the Find window on the upper right on your screen,
hit Enter,
and then click on the Jump To.
Go through the interview again until you see the summary of forms you entered.
Edit the one you want.
