Hello, I imported the Robinhood crypto 1099B electronically to the TurboTax primer desktop. The imported transaction indicated the short-sell cost basis not reported to IRS. As I review, some of the transactions did not have the acquisition date listed, but only the sold date with a cost basis. Robinhood 1099B form grouped some transaction dates together, that's why some actual transaction acquisition dates were missing. Taxbit helped me to list every crypto transaction in the 8489 form TXF. Should I also upload to the TurboTax or print it and mail to the IRS after e-file? What should I do in this situation?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Any information that was not available for import from the broker needs to be supplied by you before you can file the return.
I also have form 8496 from developed for the same exchange. Can I upload both 1099B and 8496 form to TurboTax desktop version?
@angelwying You don't need to upload the 8949, only the 1099-B. That should have all of your transactions on it. But you will still need to import all of the transactions or enter the summary totals into TurboTax in order to file the return.
