I sold several stocks in 2020. Most had dividends reinvested, so when it passed one year there were both long and short term gains, but the input page doesn't have the flexibility to input both, it makes me choose between long or short, even when I select Various for the acquisition date. When I get to the summary page the long term gain is wrong because of the input. How do I I tell the program how much the long & short term gains are?

You have to split the sales into 2. One for long term and one for short term.
Wow! It would be a lot easier and a lot less math if TTax just added a couple of boxes to spell out the Short term vs Long term Gains. I only had 4 sales, can't imagine if someone had a lot more.
your consolidated 1099-B statement from the broker should show this breakdown for you.
I agree, but the brokerage statement does it for you ... most of the time. Long term is investments held for over a year, just saying.
The form 1099-B may properly state the sales as long-term versus short-term, but if not, you would have to modify the entries to be compliant. There is an option in TurboTax to adjust the gain reported on an investment sale you will see when you enter your 1099-B transactions as follows:
