US Savings Bonds Interest

My US savings bonds interest came in on a 1099-INT (Box 3) from the bank (PNC) where i cashed the bonds, where do i fill this out?

To enter your savings bond interest:

  1. Select Federal Taxes.
  2. Select Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to Interest and Dividends group.
  4. Click on the Start button to the right of the Interest on 1099-INT category.
  5. Answer Yes to Did you receive any interest income?
  6. Click I'll type it in myself
  7. Click the box next to My form has info in more than just box 1 (this is uncommon) to show boxes 2-14.
  8. Enter your interest in Box 3 - Savings bonds and treasury int

This does not help me. This is not interest free income. We are trying to find where we place the interest received on cashing in US savings bonds. My bank sent me a 1099-INT Form.

My apologies.  There was a type in my answer and it has been corrected.  However, box 3 is the correct box to enter your savings bond interest.
