Hello,
While adding information in TurboTax under Federal Taxes --> Wages Income --> Box 14, my W2 has two entries RSU and WAPFL. I entered this information, but the system is prompting me for Category for each. Please advise what should I select. I live in WA state, but I don't think Washington Workers Compensation Fund tax is correct.
Thanks!

The amount on Form W2 Box 14 coded WAPFL is for Washington Paid Family Leave. This considered "Other deductible state or local tax."
RSU amounts reported in Box 14 of Form W-2 are informational. This represents how much income from RSU vesting is included in your income. If none of the categories apply, scroll to the bottom of the list and choose "Other–not on above list."
@PatriciaV : selecting Other (not classified) for RSUs has increased my federal tax return. Why is that so? I am asking because I was already taxed on these vested RSUs.

Please clarify: Did you also receive Form 1099-B for the sale of RSUs?
@PatriciaV : taxes that I have already paid from the vesting of RSUs is already included in my W2 form.
Selecting Other (not classified) for RSUs is increasing my tax return when I had already paid for these taxes. Please advise what needs to be done so that I am not taxed twice for the vested RSUs.
Best!

Don't enter anything about RSU's reported in Box 14 into your tax return. Just the WAPFL.
That is for your information only.
You are correct, the income has already been included in Box 1 of your W-2.
@MarilynG1 : leaving RSU blank gives me error message and it picks up again in the Smart Check requiring me to select a category. Please advise.
If you're using TurboTax Online, I would suggest that you delete your W-2, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies, then re-enter your W-2 manually.
There's no way the Smart Check should pick up the RSU notation in Box 14, if it hasn't been entered anywhere.
@MarilynG1 I am using the Turbo Tax downloaded software on a Windows laptop and not an online version. Tomorrow, I will delete W-2 and enter again by hand and then will update you later in the day. Thanks!
