I tweeted and messaged a representative from turbo tax, we shall see.
Yeah, if this persists for 2022 tax year, I plan on using that last method (using the "summary" entry and then uploading the PDF separately) next time.
For this year, I just decided to print the thing and mail that in today and pay via MA TaxConnect which wasn't so bad. Still, disappointing that I had to do this instead.
Overall, my customer impact was partial loss of product value in that:
* I was able to file my Federal Taxes via e-File
* I was able to use TT's GUI to make a printable tax return and mail that to MA DOR
* I was NOT able to file my MA Taxes via e-File
Would this stop me from using the product again? No. But would it affect a NPS survey given to me? Absolutely. My mood on the given day would probably, decide whether I slipped them a 7+ or not. Would it negatively affect my likelihood of suggesting this to others who sell options contracts? Absolutely.
I have the same issue when filing MA tax. My code is 1016160.
I interacted with an agent and got nowhere unfortunately.
@PatriciaV You left us out to dry. You've been posting on so many other topics.
Care to come back and at least apologize for promising a fix on Friday and then not delivering? You screwed over a lot of people.
I never post on Twitter but figured why not.

When I open the form where the “error” is located (MA Cap Gn/Lss Wks), I am unable to make any changes to it. Can anyone please, please help me with this? All I want to do is swap the two number in one (one!!) entry … and I can’t. Am I looking in the wrong place? Can anyone give me the step-by-step to manually make the change I need, since TT is apparently not going to bother fixing this problem? I’m losing my mind here. TIA

Thanks @tokinb -- alas, that's not working for me. I probably should have said I have the desktop version and I'm on a Macbook Pro, in case that makes any difference. At this point it looks like I'm just going to have to paper file. And never use TurboTax again.
Just heard back from Corporate:
"When I notified you of the update, the date I was provided for the fix was 4/15. After reviewing the investigation, the date for the update in the TurboTax program has been changed from 4/15 to 5/6.
Here’s a copy of the email that was sent to users experiencing this issue:
“We are still working to resolve this issue in TurboTax to allow you to file your return electronically. Currently our ETA for a fix is within 3 weeks.
With the Tax deadline coming up we urge you to file an extension for MA and pay any tax due before 4/18/22.
A Second option is to print and mail your return to MA by 4/18/22.
Once the issue is resolved we will inform you.” "
Gave up waiting, e-filed my Fed return and paper mailed my MA state return. To state that there would be a fix just before the deadline then let the deadline pass with out a fix or ANY update from Turbotax is ridiculous!
Really hard to understand.
This is what I did to work it around
Instead of importing all fidelity transactions, I just entered the top-level summary as that still puts the right gain/loss at the top level - the downside is you have to mail the 1099B to IRS within 3 days of acceptance. however, I was able to file the return.
Hello Tax Expert,
My token #1019015. I have the same issues and I have 157 transactions.
Please help me to solve this issue.
Thank you so much,
Kate
Thank you for sharing that. Guess I'll file an extension - first time ever. I might fiddle with the work-arounds first but I'm not exactly a tax pro, which is why I use Turbo. 😉
Same problem. Glad I found this forum, and realized I'm not going crazy.
What a pain though..... lost so many nights of sleep.
I be printing the docs and mailing in.
Same here, I'm in MA.
Seems like a MA issue, why can't they fix this quick if other states are fine. Shouldn't take that long.
