I'm itemizing my expenses as self-employed and have listed my business from the start. I've not had this problem in prior years of using this site.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.  Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.   STATE RETURN Make sure your state return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   To track your state refund:       ttps://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0

Thanks for your continued efforts!  Someone named Dawn at TT is also working on this (maybe she's your contact or you and she are working together) and she has stated something similar.  But it seems to me that if 7a is checked (yes it's less than 1MW), 7220 should never be required no matter what box we check in 8 since the following statement is directly from the IRS website Instructions for Form 7220 (12/2025) | Internal Revenue Service If you’re claiming the increased credit or deduction amounts and satisfy the BOC or the One Megawatt exception, you’re not required to file Form 7220.

This is ridiculously frustrating.   I am able to login to my Intuit account via the Google Chrome browser and pass the captcha first try each and every time. And yes, Intuit makes me do the captcha literally. every. single. time. I. login. I even have multi-factor authentication enabled on my account, but it does not matter. CAPTCHA FOR ALL, EVEN IF I HAVE JUST LOGGED IN FROM THE SAME COMPUTER. Ugh.   When I go to launch TurboTax 2025 and am presented with the login screen, it, once again, forces me into a captcha, though this time, there is no working solution to *actually* login. I have attempted it probably 20 times (literally) at this point. I can only assume it is embedding an Edge browser pane into the TurboTax 2025 launcher or something, but it literally never works. I've cleared the cache through Internet Options in Control Panel; no difference, no change, just repeated failure. Switch over to another program, and I can login just fine via Chrome AND on my iPhone via Safari, first try every time.   Come on, Intuit. I know you want us to use TurboTax Online as opposed to the Desktop editions, but this is ridiculous - please get this fixed, because it is clearly broken for more than just me. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that this _has to be_ a bug....

Roughly 37% of taxpayers are eligible. Examples of situations included in a simple Form 1040 return (assuming no added tax complexity): W-2 income Interest, dividends or original issue discounts (1099-INT/1099-DIV/1099-OID) that don’t require filing a Schedule B IRS standard deduction Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Child Tax Credit (CTC) Student loan interest deduction Taxable qualified retirement plan distributions   Examples of situations not included in a simple Form 1040 return: Itemized deductions claimed on Schedule A, like charitable contributions, medical expenses, mortgage interest and state and local tax deductions Unemployment income reported on a 1099-G Business or 1099-NEC income (often reported by those who are self-employed, gig workers or freelancers) Stock sales (including crypto investments) Income from rental property or property sales Credits, deductions and income reported on other forms or schedules        How can I see my TurboTax  fees?  https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k   If your TurboTax fees are higher than expected, you can reduce them by removing add-ons     (BEFORE you e-file) :   Remove Premium Services Remove MAX Defend & Restore Remove a state Remove PLUS Help & Support Remove Pay With Your Refund     Or—-Use this IRS site for other ways to file for free.  There are 8  free software versions available from the IRS Free File site   https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/     No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/contact-turbotax/L2y9ZKpQB_US_en_US?uid=m5s9l2vh
You would have to print out each year and compare them line by line and see what’s different.   Maybe you’ll spot something you entered wrong or left out.

I found the solution to my own question posted here, based on other posts.  But would like to explain the solution a bit more clearly than other posts.  In the Step-by-Step forms after you enter the 1099-Q info you then proceed to the Student Information Summary where you designate if the dependent was a student in the current year and what kind of school they attended (elementary, high school, college, etc.).  If you specify the type of school as elementary or high school it generates the Enrollment Status error on the People Wks when running the Smart Check.    Switch to Forms mode and there will be two forms that the Student Info will appear on.  The 'Student Info Wk' that is a sub form under the Dependent Wks AND on the People Wks.  Both forms have the same 'Part I - Student Status' questions.  On the People Wks, question 1, 'Were they a student in current year?', should be unchecked from yes.  leave unanswered.  For question 2, uncheck Elementary or High School and leave unanswered.    Now go to the Student Info Wk form under the Dependent Wks form. Question 1 should be set to Yes for 'are they a student?'.  Question 2 what type of school should be set to Not applicable (do not specify elementary or high school).  Rerun SmartCheck and there will be no errors and you can now submit for e-file.   MY QUESTION TO TURBOTAX IS, WILL NOT SPECIFYING THE ACCURATE SCHOOL TYPE OF ELEMENTARY OR HIGH SCHOOL GENERATE AN AUDIT?  This is clearly a bug and the workaround is misleading and not accurate.  Would appreciate a response before e-filing by end of March.
