There is no fee to amend your return unless the change you are making to your tax return required you to upgrade to a higher paid version of the software.   If you had to upgrade from Free Edition to Deluxe or Premium in order to make the changes, you have to pay for that whether you e-file or file it by mail.

You may not need to file Form 2210, which is why you don't see any change in your Federal return after adding it.  You may not owe a penalty for 2025, if your underpayment was less than 1K.  TurboTax should add it for you, if required.  If you had a Balance Due this year, you may just need to adjust your tax withholdings going forward.    Since we can't see your return in this forum, here's some detailed info on Form 2210 to help you.   @BL_TaxLearning

Q. So are you saying I don’t need to report it all?  A. Yes.    Q. I just thought it’d be put into TT? A. No. TurboTax will put nothing about the 1099-Q on the actual tax forms.  You essentially do not send anything to the IRS about your distribution, when it is a "qualified distribution".  A contribution to a Roth IRA is a "qualified distribution".

A cash liquidation distribution reported in Box 9 of Form 1099-DIV should be reported as a capital gain (or loss) on Form 8949 and Schedule D. You need to enter it the same way you would if had been reported on a Form 1099-B.  Even though you don't have a 1099-B, type "1099B" in to Search  and hit enter:     Click on "Jump to 1099b"  Answer  Yes  to "Did you have investment income in 2022?"   Click through the program until you get to "Let's import your tax info?", and click on "Enter a different way".  Click to highlight the box with "Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds", then click on Continue.   Enter something for "Bank or Brokerage" and click on Continue.   Answer No to the Employee stock question.   Continue through screens until you come to the page with Now, enter one sale on your Foreign 1099‑B  Enter the information for your stock that was liquidated.

Do you have Schedule 2 included in your return?  Look on Line 1a of Schedule 2.   That is your APTC repayment amount which is transferred to Line 17 of your Form 1040.       The tax table number is applied to your taxable income on Line 16.     That is your regular income tax.   Then the APTC is added back on Line 17 to get to your total tax liability on Line 24.    Double check Form 8962 to see how your 1095-A form(s) was reconciled.

For 2025, I lived (rented) and worked in Tennessee from starting in February. Upon receiving W2's and 1099's, realized employers used previous Indiana address. Due to life, did not get drivers license updated to Tennessee until late 2025. How do I file State Taxes?

Interesting.. I have a related question: As a sole-proprietor, retired from general employment, if a former employer offers a Medicare advantage plan, dental insurance, and vision, and the costs are deducted from my pension check from that former employer,  are the costs of those plans (i.e. the amount deducted) include-able in SEHI?

Turbotax does indeed offer a 20% teachers discount through id.me.  Just have to go through the id.me site to get it.
Yes, you should select "I didn't roll or convert this money".  The program is asking about 2025 activity only.
No.   You cannot add forms that are not provided or supported by TurboTax unless you file by mail.   What are you trying to do?

The program's default is to use whichever one is higher: itemized deductions or the standard deduction.  There is an option to switch/choose the other one at the end of the deductions section.  I suggest you go through that section and check and make sure you didn't somehow make that selection.    It sounds like you're using the TurboTax Desktop program.  If that's the case, and you didn't inadvertently indicate you wanted to take the Standard Deduction, I suggest you go to Forms view and review your Schedule A and the Tax & Int Wks.  This will allow you to see what amounts are entered and transferring to you Schedule A.

Thank you for you  detailed reply. amazingly, I tried to open Turbo tax this AM and of course had to download an update. The first one took 5 min., then had a second for 3 min, then a third for 7 min. After that i was asked for my account. (Somehow I have two of maybe three accounts) Well I put in the account info for what I think is my main account and, lo and behold, the program opened.  I have a feeling that somehow the fed download is on one account and the fed on another. Still don't know why they couldn't see my license code. Anyway I now have access to TT.   Thanks again.

Do you know what you need to change?   Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=m76mq6z2   Use a mailing service like certified mail  to track so you will know it was received since you will have a long wait.   Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return
Good to hear!  They can amend to claim the credit if it were missed in their original filing.
