Follow the steps to see if you have a Form 8283 on the list of forms in your return.  If it is there, try deleting it.  When you go back, run through the steps to file.  If it is required, you will get an error and may have to complete that section in Deductions & Credits again.  If it is not required, try to efile again.  Post here if this does not work.  See How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

No, if you have absolutely no other income, then you would not need to file a return just to report the 1098-T.  Since box 1 is greater than box 5, there is also no income here to report.   However, are you over 24 and not claimed as a dependent on someone else's return?  If so, since you do have qualified education expenses greater than your scholarship, you may be eligible for the refundable portion of the American Opportunity Tax Credit. You could be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in a refundable credit.  You do not have to have income to claim the refundable portion.   American Opportunity Tax Credit. Available for the first 4 years of college Max amount is $2,500 per student Partially refundable credit meaning if your tax liability is $0, 40% (up to $1,000) is refundable Be enrolled in a degree or credential seeking program Not have a felony drug conviction Be enrolled at least half time cannot be claimed as a dependent on anyone else's return.  To claim the full credit, your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) must be $80,000 or less ($160,000 or less for married filing jointly). You receive a reduced amount of the credit if your MAGI is over $80,000 but less than $90,000 (over $160,000 but less than $180,000 for married filing jointly). You cannot claim the credit if your MAGI is over $90,000 ($180,000 for joint filers).   As for the stimulus payment, you had until April 15, 2025 to claim the final stimulus payment if you did not receive.  If you mailed the form prior to that, then you would need to check with the IRS on the status of your payment. You can call the IRS specialized line for payment traces at 800-919-9835. The IRS does not provide that information to TurboTax.
How do we correct if filed, and not noticed that it said 2024.   1096 same issue, but the actual 1099 NEC said 2025 on it.
I think that's just an ad.  You start your return out and then select how you want to proceed.  Then you will have the option to select your product.

I understand how to do the HAS 1099-SA entry, and have been doing so for 7yrs since I retired, and no longer carry any HDPlan, because on medicare The problem is that the interview process just keeps saying “available” rather Than being “complete” – even after I answer all the questions correctly about Not having any HDP coverage for year 2025. I have also looked at the actual form 8889-S that is generated by this interview process – and that’s where issue shows up: The form does not have all the boxes checked for “no” for HDP coverage for each month of 2025 – probably because the interview process no longer asks this question for each month like it did in years past, including year 2024 last year. Anyway – I’ve tried deleting this form, doing the interview and adding all 1099-SA form info Back again correctly for “interview-entry” and it just keeps showing the HSA-SA section as Being “available”, rather than completed correctly. I must say it never did make any sense to me why the interview in all previous years, 2024 Included – always asked about each and every month whether I had HDP coverage, when I’ve been on medicare and had no HDP plan for the last 7yrs. However, the 2025 form 8889-T continues to look incorrect because the section on HDP coverage for each month of 2025 does not have the “no” box checked for HDP coverage

Form 8889 is used to report your contributions and distributions within the HSA.    You will need to prorate your allowed contribution limit. Eligibility is determined by the first day of the month. For example: working Jan 1 -June 30, is 6 months of the year or 50% allowed. This 50% is applied to the coverage type, self or family and must also be prorated for catch up contributions if you are 55 and up. self:  $4300 x 50% family: $8550 x 50% catch up: $1,000 x 50%   You will need to see if you overcontributed during the first 6 months. If so, you will want to correct/remove your excess in order to avoid annual penalties. You can contact your HSA provider and let then know you need a distribution of excess contribution. You will get the money back plus earnings on that amount. It will be taxable income but well worth it to avoid the annual 6% penalties.   One final note: the last month rule does not apply to you since it is for December only.
If I pay for Dependent Care for my 11 year old son, who has special needs, with his ABLEnow account, can I claim the expense as dependent care when I file my taxes?

Where you report a Form 1099-PATR depends.  Amounts shown in boxes 1, 2, 3, and 5 are typically reported as income on Schedule F, Schedule C, or Form 4835 (Farm Rental Income and Expenses).  Taxpayers that do not file Schedule F - Profit or Loss from Farming, Schedule C - Self-Employment Income, or Form 4835 often report the income on 1099-PATR as "Other Income" on Schedule 1 of Form 1040.  Boxes 6, 7, 8, & 9 relate to Section 199(A) Qualified Business Income Deduction.     Can you reply and clarify if you are filing Schedule C, Schedule F, or Form 4835?  Also indicate the amount reported in Box 3.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.     If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed   The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February,  But wait until your return has been processed.

Thanks, Dave.  I deleted the forms 1098-T from "tools"  "my tax data" and then went to "Your deductions and credits"  "education" and "visit all" and deleted the 1099-Q data,  then reentered the 1099-Q data when prompted but Turbotax premium still only will take me to "your adjusted gross income . . . exceeds the maximum limit"  and "You should still enter your education expenses to avoid paying tax on your Education Saving Account (ESA) or qualified tuition program (QTP)."  When I hit the "continue" icon, it takes me back out to deductions & credits with no option to enter the 1098-T data.  It appears to be some sort of software bug.  Very frustrating.
I rebooted my computer and all is well now!  Thank you
