If you used TurboTax to e-file your original 2025 tax return, you can likely e-file your amendment as well, rather than mailing it.    Also, since you are only adding Form 8938 and your total tax, income and refund are not changing, you generally do not need to file a state amendment.   TurboTax makes it easy for you to file an amendment. Here is a link on how to proceed with the amendment in TurboTax.   When you start your amendment, TurboTax will walk you through the section where you can add the missing account details to Form 8938.   Note: To prevent processing delays, if the IRS has not completed processing your original return, do not efile your amendment yet. The IRS recommends waiting until your original return is fully processed and the first refund is issued (if applicable) before filing the 1040-X.

thank you - that did it!   also for Question B, i opted for Initial not Annual as my exchange was done in 2025.        Suggestion for TT - should create an error if user has F8824 and did not realize they need to initiate the outside of CA interview for F3840.. this will result in mistakenly filing CA without 3840.   (for following years, would be also great if TT remind user or prompts to keep filing F3840)   thanks!
No, a dependent isn't entitled to any portion of your tax refund. The refund legally belongs to the taxpayer who filed the return assuming all IRS rules were met.

Enter Form 1095-A exactly as it appears on your copy, even if Column C (Advanced Premium Tax Credit) is zero or blank. If there is no number in Column C, it just means you didn't receive advance payment of premium tax credit.    Do not enter zero if it is blank, as this can trigger errors; instead, leave it blank. If TurboTax requires an entry to proceed, use a tiny amount like $.01 as a workaround, which rounds to zero.   If you need to get a copy of the Form 1095-A that was issued to you, log into your HealthCare.gov or your state Marketplace account, select your 2025 application, and check the "Tax Forms" section to download a PDF.

@flores-jamie2015 , if you are not filing jointly with the other 50% owner, then it is best  to declare the proeprty as 100% ownership on your  fifty percent  i.e.  it is as if you bought a  rental property for 50% of the cost including 50% of the improved structure and 50% of land underneath.  You then also have  rent  and costs  all allocated to you as 50% of the total for the property  ( but at 100% of your fifty percent -- as if  you had a rental property with two condos in the same building, you own one and your partner owns the other condo ).   Does his make sense ?  Or am I confusing you  more than I should ?   Is there more I can do for you ?
