If you imported the form, delete it and type it in manually. Boxes 5 and 11 combine to equal zero taxable income. The program does want to double check that is right. It is also checking for state adjustments - which should not be -for zero taxable income. Be sure you don't have multiple states selected for no income.   If you typed it in manually, you need to: Online version: Delete the form, see How to Delete   Log out of your return and try one or more of the following: Don't use Internet Explorer. If you are trying to enter the sale of non-depreciable business property you can enter it as follows and not in Form 4835. The actual sale will fall onto Form 4797 which will occur with the instructions below. The reporting of the sale of property will go to the right place on your tax return. You may need to delete any entries you may have tried to make earlier.   Gather any information you need from the assets/property that is being sold then use the steps below to enter the sale. Leave the depreciation line blank.    Sale of Business Property: Income and Expenses at the top Scroll down to Other Business Situations For TurboTax Desktop: Business Income and Expenses > Less Common Business Situations Select Sale of Business Property Select Sales of business or rental property that you haven't already reported. If you received Rental Income reported on a K-1, the default treatment is Passive.  To be considered non-passive, it has to be a short-term rental, or you're a Real Estate Professional.  This means that you spend 50% of your time managing the rental, and over 750 hours a year (documented) on rental activity.   This most likely doesn't apply to you for your K-1 Rental Income.   @otazisaoud1

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS ! EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-2021-turbotax-online-return-pdf/L8dHfRkpT_US_en_US?uid=m6guj526   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-2021-turbotax-online-return-pdf/L8dHfRkpT_US_en_US?uid=m78eb8pc In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-turbotax-online-return-tax-data-file/L4xwOG3LF_US_en_US?uid=m6guk3xl   NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.

When entering a foreign pension in TurboTax without a TIN, you can use a substitute Form 1099-R. Here are the steps to follow: In TurboTax Desktop, check the box for "I need to file a substitute 1099-R" and follow the prompts. In TurboTax Online, select "I'll type it in myself" and check "I need to prepare a substitute 1099-R." If the foreign pension provider does not have a TIN, you can enter a dummy TIN like 99-9999999 or 55-5555555. If errors occur due to the dummy TIN entry, you can enter the pension under "Miscellaneous Income."

I have my 2024 tax return saved on a Windows 10 computer.  Since I cannot use Windows 10 for 2025 taxes, I got a new Windows 11 computer and want to import data from my old computer.  What's the easiest way to do that?  I'm using TurboTax program for both 2024 and 2025 taxes on my PC.
Hi, I paid to file my taxes, but it said there was a problem with my payment. I looked into other options and decided not to file with turbotax. I'd like a refund since I'm no longer filing. Thanks!

Can anyone confirm if this statement is still true?    If your expenses (mortgage interest plus property taxes) were more than the rent you received, you are not required to report the income.   We had a family member renting from us at below fair market rental value and are trying to understand the impact as it relates to not for profit/other income reporting.   - Mortgage interest + property taxes = $24,896.32 for full year ($18,672.24 prorated for 9 months) - below fair market rental value income of $18,000 across 9 months in 2025.    Do we need to report the $18,000 as other income? If so, where does that get reported?

Where & how do I enter the sale of a 2nd home?  I have no other investment income but I do have a 1099S and closing statement. In "Less Common Income" / "Sale of Home" only asks about the main home. Also when I go to the "search" (top right) I'm taken to a virtual assistant which after having asked a question earlier in the process gives no option of asking any other question, so no help there. I realize that I'm probably missing a simple explanation/process but tghis has me stumped to the point of frustration . . .    Thanks in advance for any and all help rendered.
