I see, thank you for letting me know. I'm filing as a non-resident. When I switch to resident, I do see the option for 529 show up on that screen. But I need to file as a non-resident. A quick google search shows that I should be able to deduct contributions even as a non-resident. However, this section doesn't appear in Form 140NR. I checked my returns for the last two years since I had the same situation, it looks like I added my 529 contributions as part of "Other Subtractions" This seems to be fine, my returns for the last two years were accepted without issues

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.
You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
Select your product below and follow the instructions.

Been using TurboTax for over 15 years, not supporting PDF attachment nor CSV file this close to the filing cycle is unacceptable. I am switching everything over to FreeTaxUSA. It supports everything I need and significantly cheaper. Not to mention, it doesn't lag and crash on me all the time like the TurboTax desktop. Yes, it's a bit of a pain for the migration but enough is enough.

No, you will probably not pay any taxes since you withdrew your excess Roth IRA contribution before the tax-filing deadline (there should be no 10% early withdrawal penalty nor any 6% excise tax on the over-contribution).
You already paid taxes on the money you contributed to the Roth IRA; so taking that amount back out is tax-free.
However, if the account earned a few cents or dollars (e.g., in a sweep/money market fund), than any earnings distributed with the excess are taxable as ordinary income.
Code P on your 1099-R Identifies the distribution as a "Return of excess contributions taxable in the prior year."
Code J identifies an "Early distribution from a Roth IRA." (when paired with P, it just lets you & the IRS know that it was a Roth account).
Enter the 1099-R exactly as it appears; be sure to enter both P and J in Box 7.
Make sure Box 2a matches your form; if it is $0, no income will be added to your return.

That is exactly the case the phone number I used and never got to a human. Just a robot asking for an ID number that I don't have.

Do you have the downloaded (CD/Desktop) version of TurboTax, or do you have the Online version?
If you have the Desktop version there is a [FILE] option in the top left corner above the LOGO.
This provides multiple options including "EXIT".
If yo have the Online version, it can only be used to prepare one tax return.
You will ave to open a new return. Go to the TurboTax Website.

At least NJ is now clear: If we could only get Congress to act and extend TCJA, life will be good

I too was charged an the person assisting me was very rude, she didn’t know what she was talking about and I had to tell her multiple times that she got the wrong fee which was $70 on top of the $80. She claimed to process the refund to my original payment method but I test nothing she says. I’m never filing with these people ever again.
