Assuming that you are filing a resident tax return Form 502, and "prior year tax" refers to the total Maryland personal income tax you were charged last year, then the amount that you want to enter into this field will be the 2024 Maryland 502 Line 34. Total Maryland and local tax. You can download your prior-year tax form, then print to PDF to view and locate this item using these FAQ steps:
If you've started your return already
Sign in to your TurboTax account. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (same user ID) as in previous years.
There are two ways to get your prior-year returns:
Select Documents from the menu, use the dropdown menu to choose the tax year you want, and select Download tax PDF.
On Tax home, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents. Select the year you want and select Download/print return (PDF).
If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account. Go here to find all of your accounts. One of them should have the return you're looking for.

In your message you said you were having the same problem with transmitting your return. Our issue was that we could not file partnership returns with the State of Georgia. It turned out that the State of Georgia was not accepting business tax returns until Feb 26. So are you trying to file a partnership return with the State of Georgia? Form 700? If so have lunch and take a nap, It worked for me. That is we had to wait until the State of Georgia started to accept business returns. Now if you are trying to transmit some other return, our solution is no help to you. My guess is you are trying to transmit your personal (form 1040) and a state return. Some general guidance is to transmit your federal return separate from your state return. Transmit your federal return first. by selecting the state return as I will file later. If that works you know your federal return has no problems. Then file the state return. If you have problems rerun the error checking program again. Look at your data and see if you have any errors such as extra spaces like after your middle initial. look for blank spaces that should have zeros like where you have added a title or description but no related value. There is a whole lot more items that could be wrong. If these hints don't work submit your question again as a new issue and give as much information as possable.

I am on the most current version of TurboTax Home & Business. Yes there is a feature that provides a FMV. However, each Donation line item is restricted to one type of clothing or household item. This is no way as flexible as what's in H&R Block, which is more similar to what we did in It's Deductible. Only difference is you can not pre-enter you donations throughout the year as we did in ID. I am still not sure how we can import donations from some other 3rd party Charitable Contributions software. Quite frankly this new FMV feature is a pain in the a$$.

I'm having the same issue and hoping TT fixes it soon. I understand this doesn't really affect my return but it's still an annoying bug.

Entering a large "Windfall" amount in the SSA-1099 box can cause a "limit error" in TurboTax. To avoid this and stay treaty-compliant:
Don't combine them into one entry: Enter your U.S. SSA-1099 as its own item, which includes the lump-sum payment from the WEP.
Add a second "Social Security" entry: In the Social Security section, click "Add another SSA-1099."
For the Payer Name, enter "Service Canada - CPP/OAS."
Put the total amounts from the CPP/OAS in Box 5 of this form.
If you still encounter the error, you may wish to enter the WEP lump-sum into the second SSA-1099 to see if this works. In fact, let us know if this is successful.

I did not itemize deductions on my 2024 federal return. I received a 2024 state and local income tax refund. I paid my 4th quarter 2024 state and local estimated tax in 2025. The State and Local Income Tax Refund Worksheet in TT shows the 2024 refund, the 4th quarter state estimated payment, the total of all my 2024 state and local estimated payments, but it does not show the 4th quarter local estimate payment. It subtracts the 4th quarter state payment from the refund to calculate the Refund Allocated to Tax paid after 12/31/2024 (Part I, Line 3). Why is the local payment missing and not used in the calculation?

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
