It is hard to say without seeing the tax returns.   You should have filed as a part-year resident for both the Virginia and North Carolina state income tax returns.  On their part-year tax return, some states will reduce your standard deduction by the percentage of your income was earned in the other state.   In the North Carolina state income tax return, carefully review the screen Wages Allocation to make sure that the correct income was reported to each state.

@tgduckworth00    Not sure it can be removed   The software needs that worksheet keeps track of total Withholding on any tax forms you enter, and any Estimated tax payments you made during 2025 ...for both Federal and State tax forms  (and Local if applicable to a few folks).   The software uses it...and the form itself it doesn't get sent to the State or Feds when you file. __________________ But...maybe you need to correct something on that sheet? You'd have to tell us what you "think" is wrong on it before anyone could hazard a guess as to where you would go to correct it.
I would like refund for the assist & review part of charge. Are you willing to do this?

You will have to look at schedule 2 to see what other taxes are listed there. Your spouse's income from 2024 will not carry over to 2025, so you wouldn't have self-employment tax associated with that on your 2025 return. The reference to self-employment tax means you may have that, but it could also be from other things, such as advance premium tax re-payments and net investment taxes.   To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:   Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

401(k) plans do not issue Forms 1099-B.  Did you receive an in-kind distribution of shares from the 401(k) and subsequently sold the shares outside of the 401(k)?  If so (and your distribution from the 401(k) was not done as a distribution of Net Unrealized Appreciation), upon distribution from the 401(k) that shares are treated as non-covered share with a cost basis equal to the share value upon distribution and a holding period that began on the date of the distribution.   Or are you actually trying to enter a Form 1099-R?  box 2a of a Form 1099-R would normally show the correct taxable amount of the distribution from the 401(k).

I managed to make it work too, but slightly differently.  Turbotax suggest the Cap Asset Sales(1) form (which is slightly indented) is at fault.  Clicking on 'not a digital asset' in that form indeed did not work.  What did work for me is to go to the main Cap Asset form (not indented) and click on 'non digital transactions' on that form.  That made the error message go away
Thanks to whoever responded but I still don't have any idea where to find section 179 on the Turbo Tax website??

We set aside $3,458 into an FSA to cover daycare expenses. Turbotax is adding this amount to my taxable income.
