If you are using Premier Desktop, the easiest way to remove the two nonoperating businesses is to delete the forms from the return in Forms mode. Click on Forms at the top menu when in Step-by-Step. Review the list of forms on the left, then select and delete any that relate to the businesses, such as Schedule C, Schedule C 2 Year Comp, Schedule C Worksheet.    If you haven't made any entries for the two businesses this year, TurboTax may prompt you in Review to answer questions about all of the line items from last year as long as the forms are still there.    Premier is intended for investments and rentals and not for Schedule C.   See this TurboTax tips article for more information about Schedule C.
No IRS IP PIN question was posed in the Turbotax Premier Desktop. My old driver license info from last year was rejected. I have an IRS IP PIN. Help!

We have to guess a bit as to what you are doing since no context was provided.  Are you in the efiling stage, and it's asking you to verify your email address with a 6-digit code emailed to you?   It can't be sent in a phone text, since the purpose is to verify your email address, not to verify your phone number.   If you are not receiving the code in your email, also look for it in your email's spam/junk folder.   You can update the email address you want to use for notifications by using the steps below.   Or you may be able to verify the email address inside your account settings, then maybe it won't ask again when you go to efile.   In the left menu column scroll way down to the tab Intuit Account. Then once in the account settings choose tab Sign In & Security. See if your email address has a tiny link beside it that says "not verified".  If so, click that to verify. Perhaps once you verify it there in the account settings, it won't ask you to verify it again when you are efiling. Or you can change the notifications email address to a different one, if desired.  If you do change it, try to verify it there while in the account settings.   If after all that, you still can't resolve your issue, here's how to reach TurboTax Support . Hours 5AM-9PM Pacific, 7 days/week   FAQ: What is the TurboTax phone number? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number/00/25632   If you use Free Edition and don't have phone support, another way to reach them if you have social media is to direct message a Support agent: https://x.com/TeamTurboTax or https://www.facebook.com/turbotax

Hi,   My Mom is receiving my Dad's OPM pension as a Survivor (Dad passed in 2024) and received her OPM CSF 1099-R (Civil Service Survivor Annuity).   Under: Wages & Income Where is this distribution from? One of these retirement providers: Federal Government Pension   I may be over-thinking this...   Even though my Mom didn't "earn" the pension herself,  do I still check the box that it's a Federal Government Pension, or do I check the box "None of the Above?"   Thank you.

This is the error for the Form 5695 (Residential Energy Credits).  It was supposed to be resolved by March 6, 2026.  If you still are not able to efile your return: Try manually deleting Form 5695 and re-entering the data from scratch to clear any "ghost" errors in the calculation.  See How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?   Open the rejected return, review the Energy Efficient Home Improvement section for any missing values (like the cost of enabling property), and then re-transmit.

I had accidentially redeemed a ROTH slightly less than the five year period. My advisor told me I was good; he was wrong. This is causing me enormous grief and some wasted money. (I've change advisors.) BUT ... I cannot no matter what Turbotax help screens and online expert advice says get to the point where TT asks me the basis cost of the withdrawal. The 1099-R from my broker shows no 'taxable amount' and has code T on box 7. All online instructions say I'll be prompted for entering the basis cost, but I'm not seeing this question anywhere and I can't access 8606 directly. Any advice?

Any thoughts on how to record this in Turbo tax - when I enter it as a capital item (selling a flip house) it says it is personal property.

Start off reporting the sales the same as if you did get a 1099-B. When it asks for the name of the bank or brokerage, enter anything you like that will identify the sales to you. The name does not go on your tax return. When you get to the screen that asks for the Sales section, select "Short-term did not receive 1099-B form" or "Long-term did not receive 1099-B form" as appropriate. Why did you not get a 1099-B? If you used a broker to sell the investments they should have sent you a 1099-B. How did you sell the investments?
