Originally deposited in Roth IRA up to the contribution limit for 2024. Determined I could not contribute the full amount. Removed excess contribution prior 04/15/2024. I actually lost money during the time period the funds were in the Roth account. Received a 1099-R for 2025 reporting the excess amount.
Using Turbotax Online Premium, it is calculating the 6% penalty on the entire excess amount. From what I'm reading, there should be no penalty given I removed the amount prior to the 04/15/2024 filing deadline for 2024.

No one can call you from the user forum. You have to track your own refund on the IRS site. TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return; the IRS will not tell TurboTax anything.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US
Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.

Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

The sale of a home is used only for when you sell your primary home. To enter the sale of the inherited home, you will do this as an investment sale.
It should not say 1099-B, it sounds like you are entering as a stock sale.
To enter it as a sale of a home select the following:
Federal
Income
Show More next to Investment Income
Start next to Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B)
Select Other
Continue through and select second home for the type of investment
Answer how you obtained it
You will need to enter the selling price, dates and the FMV on the date of inheritance
This will generate form 8949 and a capital assets sales worksheet, but not a form 1099-B.

We are unable to reproduce this experience in TurboTax Business, as expenses entered on the 8825 Worksheet are totaled and flow to Form 8825. It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent."
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you.
Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.
We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.

If you intend to itemize deductions such as mortgage interest, you will not be able to use the Free Edition. You need Deluxe in order to itemize, and Deluxe is not free. Do-it-yourself- Deluxe is $69, with an additional fee to prepare a state return of $59.
Unless you will have enough itemized deductions such as mortgage interest, property tax, charity donations and medical expenses to exceed your standard deduction, the itemized deductions will have no effect.
You do not mention what kind of 1099's you have----and there are over a dozen kinds. Do you have a 1099NEC for self employment income, SSA1099 for Social Security, 1099R for retirement income, 1099B for investment income, 1099G of unemployment, etc, etc. etc.????

I am seeking assistance with repeated processing errors embedded in the 2025 version of Intuit Turbo Tax Deluxe. Three times I submitted my Federal and State tax returns using Turbo Tax Deluxe (desktop). Within 24 hours I received emails from Turbo Tax informing me my returns were rejected due to "processing errors." When I access Turbo Tax to fix the errors, the “Help Me Fix It” feature notified me the specific error would be corrected on the following Friday (February 28, March 6 and March 13 respectively). Then I was notified I could fix the error and resubmit my returns. After four weeks, three submissions, three rejections, and countless hours on the telephone with the Customer Service Representatives and Resolution managers, I am no closer to completing my tax returns. Worst, I no longer trust the data therein. Yikes! What recommendations does the Community have to rectify this issue or redress it with Intuit Turbo Tax? Thank you.
