TT is broken in the 1099-Q section.
In your case, the solution is easy. Just don't enter the 1099-Q or delete it if you already entered it (click on the "trash can").
The 1099-Q (and the 1098-T) is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your (or your student's) tax return. The interview is complicated and it's easy to make mistakes. Avoid it if you can and you probably can.
You can just not report the 1099-Q, at all, if your student-beneficiary has sufficient educational expenses, including room & board (even if he lives at home) to cover the distribution. When the box 1 amount on form 1099-Q is fully covered by expenses, TurboTax will enter nothing about the 1099-Q on the actual tax forms. But, it will prepare a 1099-Q worksheet for your records (you don’t need it). You would still have to do the math to see if there were enough expenses left over for you to claim the tuition credit. You also cannot count expenses that were paid by tax free scholarships.
References:
On form 1099-Q, instructions to the recipient reads: "Nontaxable distributions from CESAs and QTPs are not required to be reported on your income tax return. You must determine the taxability of any distribution."
IRS Pub 970 states: “Generally, distributions are tax free if they aren't more than the beneficiary's AQEE for the year. Don't report tax-free distributions (including qualifying rollovers) on your tax return”.
"IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states: If the entire 1099-Q went to qualified expenses, room and board, tuition, etc; then, you do not need to enter the form."

There's no explanation or code in the email I got from TurboTax. Just the link, but no such link is there, just the regular TurboTax site. I can't even access my returns. The Home page clearly shows that the amendment has been rejected. Are you suggesting that I do another amendment? Thanks much for your time.

Social Security benefits received after a spouse's death are known as survivor benefits. The amount, $1,255.50, from Social Security Administration (SSA) will need to be reported on your tax return. You may also be able to file as a surviving spouse. This can affect your tax rates and standard deductions in the year after your spouse dies. TurboTax allows entry of these benefits and will help calculate any tax due based on your income and filing status.
To enter your Social Security survivor benefits in TurboTax, follow these steps: 1. Go to Federal Taxes and select Wages & Income. 2. Scroll down to the section Retirement Plans and Social Security. 3. Select Start or Update next to Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099). 4. When asked, confirm that you received Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits and continue. 5. Enter the amount from your SSA-1099 form ($1,255.50) into the boxes as shown.

Thank you, but I've already tried clearing all that. Is the only way to delete and re-enter the property? that's going to get rid of my history with it right, since I have assets associated with it that are still depreciating. I'm not sure to how re-enter all that like previous refinance, etc.

Did you purchase the TurboTax desktop edition to install on your computer and then decided to use the online edition instead? If so, the purchase of the desktop edition cannot be used to pay for the online edition. The desktop and online editions are totally separate products with different price points.

Yes, the zero is likely because you had not payments in 2024. You will enter the appropriate payments for 2025 as you indicated.
Also, as indicated by our tax expert @MarilynG1, the recapture will be applied each year as the payments are received up to the amount of gain for the depreciation used. Because it was Section 1250 property, with a straight line depreciation used, it is allowed to be taxed as payments are received over the installment period. You are not required to recapture it all in one year for the house and land itself. The maximum tax rate would be 25% unless your regular tax rate is lower.
If you had other assets, such as appliances or equipment, any gain attributable to depreciation on those assets must be recaptured at the time and in the year of sale.
Example of Sale - IRS Publication 537

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

If you are claiming a home office in another section of your return and entered your mortgage interest and property taxes in that section, then the portion of those expenses not being used for the home office is automatically taken to the Schedule A section of your return. You would not enter it again when going through the Deductions and Credits part of your return.
Revisit the Deductions and Credits section where the mortgage interest and property tax is entered and pay close attention to any messages onscreen stating that a certain portion of those amounts is already being taken into account. If you do see those messages, then delete the entries you made in the Deductions and Credits section so that the amounts are not being included twice.
