You need to have the actual electronic pdf file not a printed or scanned copy. But a pdf only transfer very basic info like your name and AGI. It would be just as easy to manually enter all your info. So it's probably not worth even trying to transfer it.   Are you on Windows or Mac? Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

We recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies or switching to a different browser. You can also try opening an incognito or private window to see if a browser extension is blocking the page. If that doesn't work, try using the TurboTax app.   If the issue persists, we suggest contacting our product support team.     Thank you for choosing
Since you do not have a US address the IRS will mail a refund check to the address on the tax return.

You use the 2024 AMT income. You find that on line 4 of Form 6251. If the amount is negative, enter it as a negative number.   Turbo tax is asking for your 2024 AMT loss carryovers if you had any, which is rare. You would only have that if your capital losses for AMT purposes were different than for regular tax purposes. If so, then you would find those on the Schedule D you prepared for AMT purposes as opposed to the one used for regular tax purposes.

I moved June 2024 from UT to TX. My 2024 tax return was as expected, half the year to UT (state taxes) and half to Texas (no state tax). I was surprised to see I owed Utah state tax on my 2025 return, because I worked all of 2025 in Texas. When I asked HR about it they said it was because my 2025 bonus (distributed in March 2025) was based on my previous year job performance, and half of that year was in the state of Utah. Is that HR making stuff up because they don’t want to correct the paperwork or is that actually valid?

Not sure what this error might be.  Can you please clarify what forms you are trying to separate and for what purpose?

I bought a house last year, paying $200k by cashing out some of my Apple stock. I am concerned about the taxes that I will owe on this money. To be blunt, I don't have cash available to pay the taxes on this unless I take out a personal loan or maybe borrow against my IRA/401k. Is there anybody I should speak with about this before I see my tax preparer this year? And how do I set up a payment plan with the IRS?

Suggestion from support rep to start new tax return using "import data" for 2024 returns-done by accountant- it's a .pdf file (2.5mb)  and I get error code saying that it's too large. Was hoping the import would simplify my rental expenses/Schedule E and the Depreciation report which has been a nightmare to manually enter 😠 Does anyone know limit on size of importing files? Also, read somewhere that even if I DO successfully import that TT does not recognize all forms (Depreciation??), just transfers basic data. Thanks

We are unable to reproduce this experience in TurboTax Business. It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue for any state other than GEORGIA. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:    Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.   We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.   @schen_email  @Oliver  @user17730638446
If you choose to Pay with My Refund, we do use a third-party bank that delivers our preparation fee and charges a processing fee.

The following steps should help make this easier to enter and follow, as well as the ability to complete and file your return.   When you reach the screen 'Tell us more about G's statutory employment' be sure to select the most closely aligned employment. Based on whatever I select the next screen will be 'Create a Schedule C to add your income'  Continue until you reach the Income screen, then select Self employment and you will see your business already created.  Edit beside the statutory income to add expenses, etc.   If necessary, delete your W-2 and be sure to select the necessary fields to complete your return (Delete, close return, reopen to enter your W-2 again.   Use the link below for your version of TurboTax to delete a form. If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here. If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here.
