To resolve this, enter the 1099-Misc income under Rental Properties & Royalties.   From to the list of Rental/Royalty Properties, review the entries for the Royalty Property that received royalty income on Form 1099-MISC. Be sure you checked the box for "Royalty" in the Property Profile section.   After you've completed this review, add a new rental property. You can keep the same address but enter a different property description and be sure to mark this as "Rental". Enter the income reported as "Rents" on Form 1099-MISC.   You can report your expenses under the Rental Property, as well as any other rental income.   With regards to the property address, the IRS instructions for a royalty property say address lines 1 and 2 should be left blank, but sometimes the program won't let you continue without an address. Your address entries are preserved on the individual Schedule E Worksheets that are part of your complete return (not an IRS form).
TurboTax sent you an email for the rejected tax return.  It has the rejection reason and the rejection code.  What does it say?

It depends upon how the transaction has been reported.   At the screen Review your XXX sales, click the pencil icon to the right.   Does the screen report Sales section?  If so, you may be able to change the Sales section from Short term basis not reported to IRS to Long-term basis not reported to IRS.   If the screen does not report Sales section, change When did you receive this investment to a date.  Then change it back to Various.   You want to trigger the screen Did you acquire this investment more than a year before you sold it?  Then select Yes, acquired this entire investment more than a year before I sold it.

The Qualified Manufacturer IDentification Number is required for filing the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Form 5695). It's a 4-digit number. To find the QMID: Check the paperwork provided with your equipment for a "Manufacturer Certification Statement". It may be listed on the invoice provided by your contractor.  The code may be listed on the Manufacturers website.  You can also check   Find Qualified Manufacturer ID codes for IRS Form 5695. If you cannot find the code, contact the manufacturer directly.
To resolve this problem, you can enter $1.00 into column B of the annual totals from your 1095-A.  This will have no effect on your tax outcome.

No, there is no need to change your 2025 tax return filing to make you the primary taxpayer.  Since he was still alive during part of 2026, he can still be listed as primary taxpayer for your 2026 joint return if you wish to file it that way.   If the return was filed prior to your husband's death, then it was filed properly.  However, if it is was filed after he passed away, then the return should show his date of death under the Personal Info section.  If it did not show that information and it was filed after he passed, then you should probably amend the return to make that change.  It will not change the numbers in the return, but it will show that he passed.   To learn more about amending your return, see the following TurboTax help article:   How do I amend my federal tax return for this year?   My condolences for your loss.

SELECT MERRILL INSTEAD OF MERRILL MANAGED ACCOUNT.    That was the fix. There were two options, if I selected merrill managed, I got the prompt for the 24 character code. Selecting only "Merrill" avoids that.    To all the people who said "just key it in" or "you dont need to do this or that." These are terribly unhelpful answers. Please, do better.
I amended my return and both the federal and state (VA) refunds changed. Yet, only the federal return is provided to me to mail in. (I did not e-file... everything is being mailed this year.)
System said it was submitted but can see no record of it in the software
