I couldn't read or follow all that without any breaks.  But with the Desktop program you get 1 free state PROGRAM download to prepare all state returns in that specific state.  Then each state return including the first one is $20 or 25 to efile.     If you needed to file a state return for a different state  you have to buy the second state Program for $40.   Then again,  each state return is $20/25 to efile (including the first one).

First, thank you for your response.    Second, let me ask if I have this correctly now:     So on the 2025 return I'm completing now,  I list the prorated county taxes for the 1-2025 to 8-2025 period I lived in the home that was paid to the buyer of my former home.    Then on the 2026 return I list the full property taxes I actually paid in 2026 i.e., the arrears for 2025.    Because taxes are done in arrears in this Ohio county, what about the taxes I had already paid in 2025 to cover the 2024 arrears? are those reported on the forms I'm completing now?    Thank you.

If you're entering your 3,000 capital loss carryover from tax year 2024, to your current year tax return, follow these FAQ instructions:  If you transferred last year's TurboTax return over, you don't have to do a thing—we've already entered it for you.   Otherwise, follow these instructions:   Navigate to the capital loss carryover section: TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to the capital loss carryover (<click here) screen under Wages & Income TurboTax Desktop: Search for capital loss carryover, and then select the Jump to link, or Go to Federal Taxes. Go to Wages & Income. If asked, How do you want to enter your income?, select I'll choose what I work on. Under Investment Income, select Start or Update next to Capital Loss Carryover. Select Yes on the screen Did you have investment losses you couldn't claim last year? Enter the info about your capital loss on the following screens. If you're worried about your carryover from this years' taxes to the 2026 tax return, don't worry; TurboTax will roll that amount over automatically when you open the software next year.

TurboTax is designed to flag what seem like duplicate entries so that you do not report double income.   If the Payer is the same, but the funds are different, you can add an identifier for each Form 1099-R in the Payer field. For example, you can add the last four digits of the account number after the Payer's name.   For any Form 1099-Rs that have identical distribution amounts (may not apply to you), you may consider slightly altering the amounts if they are the same. For example, by changing a distribution amount from 5,000 to 5000.01, that typically resolves the duplicate Form 1099-R alerts.

It's still not working.  As I've mentioned previously, there is an interview question for condo or coop (corresponding to line 32b of Form 5695), but the interview question for line 32a (joint occupants; my situation) is missing.  Recent updates have not fixed this for the online version.
I have a business loss -$3000 that should appear on Schedule D and 1040 line 7.. Turbo Tax missed it.
