Okay...this time it worked!  It didn't before and I'm not sure why but I went through the form again in detail. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your communication with the OTC, @rolanddawson2500! It's interesting that the state tax rep would provide that information, especially since the $10,000 limit is not specifically mentioned in the form instructions or in the state statute, so I'm not sure how that limit can technically still be in effect...  What is mentioned are references to the state and local income tax deducted on the federal return, so that should be the prevailing mechanic to be applied to the state tax returns.  I would definitely keep a copy of that email communication in your files if the state ever questions or adjusts your return for this addback 😊   Also, thanks to @MelindaS1 for providing an update.  Looking forward to hearing more on this topic.

You cannot change the tax year.   The current online program is for 2025 only.   Only a 2025 return can be prepared online and only a 2025 return can be e-filed.   Online preparation and e-filing for 2022, 2023, and  2024 is permanently closed. Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.   To file a return for a prior tax year  If you need to prepare a return for 2022, 2023, or 2024  you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s) https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/ You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.   Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
This new way of doing it online is the WORST and most aggravating thing Ive ever done regarding tax returns This may be the end of using TT. 20+ years... this online version is the worst
It is very disappointing that you got rid of the valuation tool.  It was an easy way to track and enter your household donations.

Generally no.  If it has a blank box 1, you do not need to enter that in its entirety.  If you tried to enter the entire W-2 again, it would end up creating an error.    However, what is different on the W-2's? Is one a W-2c?    This will determine how you would handle the second W-2.  If it is just something in the local boxes or many times numbers in box 12, you would not need to do anything with it unless you are in a jurisdiction that requires your local taxes to be filed with your state taxes.  If it has different numbers for the state, you may need to enter those amounts?

If you have state withholding on your W-2 or other income form, but the issuer didn't enter the state ID number, contact your employer or other issuer for the number. Each state may have its own criteria for the format of the number.    As a workaround, if you can't get the correct number, you can enter a placeholder number such as the Federal ID number, or a series of 9s. TurboTax may tell you in Review if the number doesn't have the correct format for the state, or you may find the format information at your state Department of Revenue website.

If you sold personal items at a loss you don't need to report that on your tax return. If you sold things at a profit, you should enter the sales and related cost of goods sold and business expenses in the Self-Employment Income section, which is in the Wages and Income area of TurboTax. There you will see an option to enter sales that are not reported on a 1099 form.

When you use online TurboTax your returns are stored in your online account for seven years.   You can also print hard copies or save the returns to your own hard drive.   But you cannot prevent the online storage--if that is what you mean.     SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !   EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-2021-turbotax-online-return-pdf/L8dHfRkpT_US_en_US?uid=m6guj526   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-2021-turbotax-online-return-pdf/L8dHfRkpT_US_en_US?uid=m78eb8pc In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/save-turbotax-online-return-tax-data-file/L4xwOG3LF_US_en_US?uid=m6guk3xl   NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.

I attempted to file my daughter's taxes electronically this year and received the rejection code IND-674-01. She is under 16 but we did mail a federal tax return for her last year since it was the first year she had reportable income. The error reads "If the Primary Taxpayer is under the age of 16 and has never filed a tax return, then 'PINTypeCd' in the Return Header must not have the value "Self-Select On-Line"."    Since she did file last year, I was trying to determine how to get rid of the "Self- Select" option in turbotax but cannot figure out how to electronically file without selecting a pin. Is there a way to fix this and file electronically in turbotax?

I have a similar question.  I transferred a number of shares to a donor advised fund.  These were purchased fractionally on many different dates.  All are more than one year old.   I am also being asked the average trading price even though I indicated multiple shares over time.   Is this really asking for average cost basis - e.g. total cost basis / number of shares donated = average share price?  Or do I have to go crazy trying to either do each donation separately or something?
Hi, I was told by you that my return was rejected and the code was IND-517-02. What is this, and how do we fix it?
How do I enter amount of estimated taxes that I paid during the year?

Yes. If Mounjaro is prescribed by a licensed medical provider for diabetes management, it qualifies as a deductible medical expense.   Prescription medications are eligible for medical expense under IRS rules, regardless of the specific condition being treated.    You can include the amount you paid out of pocket as part of your medical expenses if you itemize deductions. Medical expenses are deductible only to the extent they exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
