This is not for Medicare Supplemental insurance, it is for Medicare B that is paid through my SS check.  I would think you have to include all amounts shown on a 1099 in order to not raise suspicion.
My payers FIN has an erroneous 'dash' in the middle of the number, which is not shown on the 1099-R. I cannot change it. How can you help?

Yes he needs to file his own return for all the income.  Be sure on his return he checks the box t hat says he can be claimed by someone else.  He has to report all his income including the cash income.  Did you find the place to enter the cash?   Yes you can use Schedule C line 48 for misc  if you don't find a place that fits.    Supplies covers a lot of things.  Don't think you can enter your mileage.
I have not filed yet. I’d like to get it corrected so I can file electronically.

Yes.  If you file a joint return, then you can take a deduction for the contributions to both yours and your spouses IRA's even they do not work and you are the only one with income, as long as you meet the other requirements.  However, you cannot contribute a total for both accounts of  more than the total taxable compensation that you report on your return.   The Basics of a Traditional IRA

I get the usual "click on buses...or bicycles...but they are squeezed into a small box and I cant scroll around the images and cannot even see the verify box at all. So I can't do my state taxes. Is there a way to disable this feature or at least expand the box these blurry images are squeezed into?

You can review depreciation on the building's asset entry worksheet. If you are using the desktop version of TurboTax, you can see that by using the Forms menu option, then find the worksheet in the list of forms. If you are working online with TurboTax, you can only see that worksheet after you pay for the program that will allow you to print out the forms and worksheets in your program.   You can also go to your business entries and update the Asset/Depreciation section. That will allow you to view the cost and date put into service you entered for the building, as well as depreciation options chosen when you entered it in TurboTax. It may also show you the accumulated depreciation pulled over from prior years and the current depreciation deduction.

No. You do not need to contact the bank for a correction because the codes the bank used are correct.   Even though you did not exceed the legal limit, you requested a return of contribution by putting the funds in and then taking them out.   Code 1 means a standard early withdrawal, while Code 8 means you are undoing the original contribution.   Learn more by clicking What do all the codes in Box 7 of the 1099-R mean?   The reason for the reduced amount is that there was a loss in the funds you originally contributed. The bank is required to distribute the contribution, plus or minus any earnings, or in this case, losses ($467.82).   The good news is that you will not owe taxes or penalties on the withdrawal, since there was a loss instead of a gain.   To report these transactions in TurboTax, enter your Form 1099-R as it was issued.    Go to Wages & Income on the left panel within your TurboTax account Click on the +Add more income box Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security and click the down arrow to expand Click Start to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) Click on +Add a 1099-R (Here, you may import or type in by selecting the Change how I enter my form box On the next screen, you can select Type it in myself, or other options, then Continue Select the box on the top left for Financial institution or other provider (1099-R), then Continue Enter the provider's information, then Continue Enter the details from your Form 1099-R, checking for which Distribution Code was used in Box 7 (or review if imported), then Continue Continue answering the questions, pressing Continue to advance   TurboTax will then ask if this was if this was a corrective distribution of an excess contribution, to which you reply, "Yes". For your Backdoor Roth IRA conversion Form 1099-R in the amount of $2,000, with distribution Code 2, here is a helpful link How do I enter a backdoor Roth IRA conversion?

I posted earlier that I was having problems uploading from Fidelity. Someone mentioned switching browers and that worked. I was using Google Chrome with Windows 11 and it was not being imported even though Fidelity was showing successful. I switched to Microsoft Edge through the settings page and it worked! TT should have a fix on this soon so more people do not keep having this issue. Thanks to the earlier posts suggesting this change of browers.

I was able to calculate the same amount of tax calculated by TurboTax.   I failed to calculate the amount of the capital gains that is taxed at 0% because the taxable income minus the capital gains is less than $96700.  This is now solved.

Thank you, that was a thoughtful and thorough answer. I heard you say short term rentals have one rule, and long term rentals have a different rule. What if I have a short term lease car, and a long term rental car? Your answer bundles long term with lease, and short term with rental, but they could be mix-matched. I very much prefer the Mileage method for all cars. Please link me to the official website that documents the cutoff between the two, thank you.
