I agree.  While I don't like it, I understand a different account and ID for each return.  Although I'm still not positive that Turbo Tax only allows one email per return, even the IRS allows five.  I've done the returns for family members for 20 years for free and now I have to find a different alternative.  Sadly, I've wasted more time trying to get an exact answer than it takes to do one of the returns.
@Oscar Zilch You are in the wrong section.  You are in Other Common Income Look for Less Common Income

I was unable to reproduce this scenario, but would like to take a deeper look at this.  So, I need a diagnostic file, which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed.  You can send one to us by following the directions below:   TurboTax Online:   Sign into your online account. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools  On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.” This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in your reply.   Put spaces in between the numbers or provide a screen shot so the filter doesn't remove the number as phone number. TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:   Open your return. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select Send Tax File to Agent * This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response. * If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, Send Tax File to Agent.

If you are still having issues importing your tax documents from your financial institution or brokerage account, you might want to try these other options:   Upload: you have to enter into your financial institution's account and download the documents to your computer, then upload it into the system.   Snap a photo: You will need the physical document in your hands and take a picture of them.   Type it yourself: This may not be the best option if you have a lot of transactions and/or documents. But, it's still an option.

To update this, you have to bypass the standard login screen. Check if you have a backup verification method enabled.   On the screen asking for the code, select the small blue link that says Try something else. If you see an option for Email, select it. You can receive the code via your verified email address. Once logged in, go immediately to Intuit Account > Sign in & Security and update your Phone section with the new number. If that doesn't work you will have to do a manual review by the Intuit security team to verify your identity.   Go to this link, Intuit Account Recovery Request. You will need a high-quality photo of your Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport. You will select that you are updating your Phone Number.

You are correct in your understanding that removing the excess contribution plus earnings will allow you to avoid the 6% penalty as long as you do it by the tax deadline.  Because the return of contribution plus earnings occurred in 2026, the actual earnings distribution will be reported on your 2026 1099-SA in box 2.   When you enter information in TurboTax, under the Less Common Income section for the 1099-SA, the software will guide you through entering everything in and will present you with the amount of the excess contribution and allow you to select that you will withdraw (or in your case, already withdrew) that amount by the tax deadline.  This will remove the penalty.   It also sounds like you correctly worked with your HSA custodian to let them know that you wanted the return of the excess contribution and got that taken care of in the right manner - that's important, because they will otherwise treat a withdrawal as a "normal distribution" that will be subject to taxes and penalties unless it's used for medical expenses.

No, the Qualified Business Income (QBI) deduction generally requires the rental activity to qualify as a trade or business under IRS rules. Since you use the single-family home personally part-time (only in summer) and report the rental income on Schedule E, it likely doesn't qualify as a trade or business for QBI purposes. The IRS excludes rental properties used as a residence by the taxpayer part of the year from the QBI safe harbor. Also, to qualify as a trade or business, rental real estate enterprises must meet criteria such as maintaining separate books, performing at least 250 hours of rental services, and keeping detailed service records. Because you use the property personally and haven't taken this deduction before, it's unlikely that your rental income qualifies for the QBI deduction under current IRS guidelines.   Please refer to IRS Notice 2019-07.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?   You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

No, you will not be asked if the amount in Box 2 on your Form 1099-R is the correct taxable amount. Box 2 on a Form 1099-R is the taxable amount as determined by the broker who issued the statement. TurboTax will start with that as the taxable amount but take into consideration the codes entered in box 7 and your answer to other questions in the section where you entered the Form 1099-R before making a final judgement.
