When is this expected to be fixed? I reviewed with an agent and everything is entered correctly, but in the "Wages & Income" section, Health savings account distributions are entered but the form still says "Start". And in the "Deductions & Credits" section, "HSA and MSA contributions" has no values (just a "-") and "Start". This and another glitch are holding me from filing right now.

kebell50 - Agreed on all you say. Besides this specific problem, TurboTax support has really fallen off pretty badly. I'm not overly impressed with the competition either. Regards, Mike O'Brien

@dmertz I think they need to change the wording to Jan 1, 2027. For a lot of items the IRS considers if you are born on Jan 1 it counts in the prior year. Like if you were born before January 2, 1961 you get the new extra 6,000 Senior Deduction for 65 and older even though you don’t turn 65 until 2026.

This seems to be a Microsoft issue. It is also affecting Adobe products. Same error: the program will not open. Same Fix: To repair Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables on Windows 11, open Control Panel > Programs and Features (appwiz.cpl), locate the packages, right-click each one, select Change, and click Repair. It is recommended to repair all versions (starting with the newest) and restart your computer afterward, but you find it is one of the 2015 redistributions. We had do do this on all the office computers to get InDesign to open.

I have been able to enter the form, but nowhere in the process is it showing me an option to delegate what the withdrawal was about.

The "qualified homeless youth" status is specifically used to qualify you for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) if you are under age 24 and a student.
Claiming "Qualified Homeless Youth" Credit:
Open or continue your return.
Under the Federal tab, Click on Deductions & Credits.
Scroll down to the "You and Your Family" section, and Click Start/Revisit next to Earned Income Credit (EIC).
Proceed through the interview screens until you come to a question about your student status. Indicate you are a student under 24, (it will then ask a follow-up question)
Check the box or select "Yes" to "Were you a qualified homeless youth or a former foster youth?"
The IRS has a very specific definition for "qualified homeless youth." You must be:
You are not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian.
You lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence (e.g., "couch surfing" or staying in motels)
You provide for your own living expenses.
Typically, if you are enrolled at least half-time for 5 months of the year, you must be at least 24 years old to claim the EITC without children. By checking this box:
The age requirement drops to 18.
You can receive the credit even if you are a full-time student.
Note: If someone else (like a parent) claims you as a dependent on their tax return, you cannot claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, regardless of your housing status. Make sure that you have indicated that "No one else can claim me as a dependent" (Personal Info section).

Thanks, I assumed that is what I would have to do if nothing else worked. As soon as I cleared it, and reentered everything, the correct tax came up. For some reason the system started off as the free edition which looks like does not recognize the senior enhanced deduction. When it started up again it showed the correct DIY edition with fee.

No, you will enter your entire HSA contribution amount for 2025. After you do that, you will be asked to enter the amount you withdrew by the due date of your tax return. Form 8889 will be populated but will indicate that you withdrew the funds so you will avoid the penalty.

I didn’t receive a 1099-k from rover this year Due to the threshold being changed but I was told I should still report my earnings. I made around $7k for the year for Rover pet sitting but I don’t see an option when it comes to inputting income for “Let's enter the income for your Pet care services work” page. I’m not sure what to do? How do I report my income if there isn’t an option?
