There is a general problem with Turbo Tax handling of Social Security fields. Attempting to enter required info in selected step-by-step fields does not work. I suggest that you go to forms view and enter it manually. It was the only way I could get the data entered, then proceed (with no further issues).

I'm using TurboTax Home and Business 2026. I have foreign income tax from investments that should be accounted for in Investment Expanses, but Form 8960 Part II is not being computed. Form 8960 Wks is not being generated at all. If I add the worksheet myself, the only way can populate the fields is by using Override. My tax situation is the same as it was last year, and TurboTax generated Form 8960 Wks and populated Form 8960 Part II correctly. Nothing should have changed for this year. All of the information needed to populate this form has been entered. What triggers the generation of Form 8960 Wks?

Thank you so much! I'm so glad I posed the question in the Community. The representative I talked to yesterday said the exact opposite including that the Live Expert could assist with calculations and advice on determining basis. I completely understand the logic that such would constitute "tax preparation". Sure wish the rep was more knowledgeable since I would have wasted $60.00! I will try to continue on my own - is it best to pose my questions one at a time or try to gather a list of questions as I already have a few to ask. Again, many thanks for the assistance!

Hello, I just e-filed a return for a trust using 2025 TuboTax Business desktop software. In the "File a Return" section, after e-filing, I come to a page that says "Print and Mail these forms to the Goverment" then it goes on to say "Even though you e-filed, don't skip this paperwork. These are items required by the government to complete your return. We'll only print the forms you need." Then there is the option to "Print Required Forms" When I click that button, a .pdf version of my "Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2025 Federal Tax Return" comes up. This is the ONLY document that comes up. Am I supposed to print and send these instructions to the government? That doesn't seem right. Please help. Thank you!

I believe this is what the expert was referring to (below) but am wondering whether it somehow gets overwritten with an import (frankly, I have no idea).

IRS-FAQs About International Individual Tax Matters
First FAQ: A U.S. citizen living outside the country for many years, do I still need to file my U.S. tax return?
Yes, if you are a U.S. citizen or a resident alien living outside the United States, your worldwide income is subject to U.S. income tax, regardless of where you live. However, you may qualify for certain foreign earned income exclusions and/or foreign income tax credits. Visit Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad, for additional information.
For your questions about whether you should set up an international company, legal council is suggested. We do not have the answer to legal questions in this tax forum and in your situation it would be the best advice.

Still...the "supposed" solution is to go into that Canadian pension area...hit the trashcan next to the empty form to delete it...then DO NOT hit Continue....use the tabs or left side menu to jump to some other area entirely. ______________ Most of us had hoped TTX would have fixed this in the last Thursday morning update...apparently not.
