He's not totally wrong about Microsoft requiring a Microsoft Account and installing one drive to copy all your data. I just  setup a new PC last fall and that's exactly what happened. There are hacks to installing with a local account and uninstalling one drive after the installation is done (and starts copying your data). These two things suck, but they do have work arounds (if you are tech savvy). But by default for most users MS is copying all your data to the cloud (scary).  The AI thing is really dumb. I answered a question online and second guessed myself. I was a bit of a niche question, so not much out there. I used Google AI and it was kind enough to find the answer... and....I was shocked to see it telling me the answer was the post I had just made about 30min earlier!!! I was surprised.

Thank you for telling us about the link error. This has been reported and will be fixed.    Can you clarify your other two questions so we can assist you further?

Once you have finished entering an investment income item, in both Desktop and Online versions, you end up at a screen where you have the choice to Add Investments or Confirm. Clicking on Confirm takes you back to an Income Summary screen where you can choose another Income topic.   If you are in Online you can also go to the left side menu and click on Wages & Income to get to the full list of income items from which to choose if you want to move to another topic or go back to one of the previous ones.   To fix TurboTax import issues, clear your browser cache/cookies, update software, disable ad/pop-up blockers, and ensure your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge) is updated to support secure connections. If import is disabled, verify third-party data sharing in your brokerage account settings. See this help article for troubleshooting steps with importing a document. @ranger75230

Farm income from Form 1099-G requires you to upgrade to TurboTax Online Premium. Once you agree to the upgrade, you should be able to enter your farm information and income.   You can also purchase and install TurboTax Deluxe for Desktop, which does include the necessary forms for reporting Form 1099-G.

Dependents are added in MY INFO.   For a child born in 2025 make sure you say the child lived with you the WHOLE year.  You need to say that for a newborn.     Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.

Did you do the math to figure out how much was going to be deducted from your federal refund after your TT fees and the refund processing fees came out of the total federal refund?   Because it sounds like you used a paid version for a federal return and state return, and chose to have the fees paid from your federal refund---incurring an extra $40 "refund processing fee."   How can I see my TurboTax  fees?  https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k

It's an absolute absurdity for this company to have removed itsdeductible without creating a way to upload an itemized list.    Lost me for life.

@M103    When box 2a already has the right amount in it...You answer YES to the page shown below, and TTX then uses the 2a $$ amount: ________________ Unfortunately, the question in the interview is (Grossly!!) misleading for your situation...   If your box 2a has a non-zero number in it..(not blank, nor marked as undetermined), and that number is somewhat lower than the box 1 number, due to an after-tax contribution amount that is noted in box 5...then edit that retirement form again, and when you get to the following page (below), answer it as-if the displayed edits were present  (i.e. you needed to answer YES).     Answering YES will use the box 2a $$ amount on your for 1040.  Check lines 5a and 5b before and after entering that CSA-1099-R. __________________________
Thank you for the suggestion, I tried that, but TurboTax automatically changed the entry to 2 decimal points AND I still got the same error message at the end:

You'll need to break out the items that have shorter lives than the building. When you are on the page "Here's the rental property info", select add expense or asset and choose Improvements, furnishings, and other assets. Start the interview regarding the improvements and indicate that yes, you made improvements in 2025. Continue through the interview to enter the information about the improvements.    Note that Forms 4562 attached to Schedule E are currently being updated.    Here, you can sign up for an e-mail to stay current on the updates: Sign up for email notification
Is it the state you are living in when you take the distribution (file paperwork) or the state you are living in when you receive the distribution (check/direct deposit received)?

i went on Credit Karma to go to Turbotax to file my taxes. Since we are seniors not getting much back.  When I got to te end and gave them all the information i saw they added 40.00 for handling fee. So they were taking 130.00. I DID NOT HOT SUBMIT  I went to taxact. Filed and  it gave me the same amount I was getting from turbo tax yet Their filing fee was 24.00 total. I went back on Turbo tax to erase all my info and it said i already filed???? I did not. And then after searching it tells me I need to fix a few things before i file???? So they took my money- didnt file and I didnt efile anything. Never again with turbo tax. And then I wanted my 2024 and it tells me i cant have them until I finished filing- Bipolar site. It said I filed and then it said i didnt.. Does turbo tax take ones money even if you dont efile and hit submit. i guess after you give them your banking account info they just grab it from there?

Probably not related to multiple forms. This is related to disabled cross-scripting in your browser. This is common for security reasons. What browser are you using (to sign into your financial institution)? I used Brave and had same issue until I exempted the URL )disabled the shield in Brave). The steps to do that might be different in other browsers.
