you can't enter directly on Schedule D if that's what you mean by it's locked   go to Open Form > Capital Asset Sales Worksheet   and plug in your short and long term proceeds/cost basis in that worksheet and that will flow to Schedule D   another alternative if you've got your net short and longs calculated offline, is you can just plug in a 1099-DIV with short term gain as ordinary dividend and long term gain as qualified dividend.  if you have a net loss that's a negative adjustment to income.  Check 1040 and the Qualified Dividend and Cap Gains Worksheet for the outcome.   you can probably also just use something like this for estimation purposes and turbotax will be ready for filing https://www.dinkytown.net/java/1040-tax-calculator.html     Capital Asset Sales Worksheet

How to Access prior year online returns https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/27010 If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2025 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2025. I had to go though about 12 screens. If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups. Or request a transcript from the IRS https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Or get a copy of your return using form 4506 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
I filed on turbo tax for 2023
How do I put my overtime pay on my taxes?
Is the tax year 2023 filed in 2024?
And do you get a W2 or a 1099NEC for your income?  Or do you volunteer?
We have to know more. Are you a volunteer, layperson, ordained minister or organized as a tax exempt nonprofit entity!?

WinPerRelease "025 . 000 . 0213"   The value of charitable donation entries are spontaneously zeroed out as new entries are made. Example in the "Your charities and donations" page: Entry made for Goodwill Industries for $850. This is initially displayed correctly in the list. Entry made for Bikes for Humanity for $107. This is initially displayed correctly in the list. File is saved. This list remains correct. Entry made for Schwab Charitable for $1000. This is initially displayed correctly in the list. The entries for Goodwill Industries and Bikes for Humanity now show $0.

Hi there, Has anyone used Fidelity exclusive TurboTax off for its clients. Their offer " File your taxes free with Do It Yourself Premium" is this Really Free or is there a charged later during filing.  I ask cause in reading the asterisk ( $99$0*State included) it keep talking about the free version items that are not included but not about the Premium version. I buy the Premium desktop version from Costco since I have to include investments. If you used this offer can you please let me know if it's fully free (which will save me buying it) and if it's online only or can I download it to desktop since I didn't see an option to download it.  Thanks for your help.
Thank you.

Using Turbo Tax online on a Windows 10 computer doesn't make it any safer than using the Desktop software on Windows 10, your still using Windows 10!! I actually believe utilizing the online Turbo Tax is much riskier than the desktop!! Turbo Tax cannot control what safeguards are in place when someone is utilizing the Online Turbo Tax. If I use the Turbo Tax desktop, all I am doing online is my updates and the e-file, the rest is offline, most safe compared to being online!!!! It's also an insult to the consumer, since Windows 10 can be used for Turbo Tax Business applications and their professional software for accountants!!! Please reconsider, otherwise I'm leaving too!!!!

Your TT account does not have your W-2.   Your W-2 is going to come from your employer.   Employers have until the end of January to issue W-2's.   But.....to get into an old account:   Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/many-intuit-accounts-turbotax/L9aVfKS1Z_US_en_US?uid=ll5g6zcx Account Recovery     TurboTax does not have your W-2.   W-2’s come from employers.  There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s.   If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.   Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36
Only your employer can provide you with the 2025 W-2
